BlackBerry PlayBook Setup
When purchasing a PlayBook, it comes installed with the Tablet OS from Research In Motion, the first thing that needs to be done is the first setup.
This setup configures everything and helps you get to know the features and updates the device to the latest version.
Be sure to register your tablet, create a BlackBerry ID for the AppWorld and other personal purposes, and to claim your 3 months customer support apart from the hardware PIN registration.
The first thing you see when you turn on the tablet is the ‘boot screen’ with color bubbles, next is the welcome screen.
Choose your preferred language and swipe your finger from left to right on the bottom of the screen, you will see a blue circle.
There is no way to skip this welcome setup, every time the tablet starts for the first time this must be setup to use the tablet.
Make sure you have wi-fi internet access available, the device will need to contact the BlackBerry servers.
And connect your tablet to a power source, the update can be big, 400MB for example, and the update installation takes power.
The tablet requires at least 10% battery available, some people reported 20% battery or the update won’t start, so have your power adapter in range and before starting plug the tablet in a power source.
An official video from RIM found on YouTube show the complete process.

Depending on the tablet OS version and the country you’re located an update is installed and the tablet automaticly restart to finish the installation.
Now we have an up-to-date PlayBook, all information set and ready to rock and roll!
Swipe to continue and the tablet does a reboot, after that open settings and look if all information matches your BlackBerry ID so you can start installing apps from AppWorld.
